The man that was arrested for attacking and burning Danville City Councilman Lee Vogler was indicted on three charges on Monday. Shotsie Michael Buck-Hayes, 29, was indicted by a grand jury on charges of Attempted First-Degree Murder, Aggravated Malicious Wounding, and Breaking and Entering While Armed With a Deadly Weapon.

The trial date for the case will be set at a later time.

Buck-Hayes will undergo a psychiatric evaluation. His lawyer has said they are considering an insanity plea.

Buck-Hayes is currently being held at the Danville City Jail. If convicted on all three charges he could be facing a sentence between 40 years and life in prison.

The attack occurred on July 30 when Buck-Hayes entered the office of Showcase Magazine. After entering the building he doused Vogler with gasoline and then set him on fire.

Vogler returned home from the UNC Burn Unit last week after sustaining burns to about 60% of his body. He is reportedly months ahead of schedule in his recovery.
