Average gas prices across Virginia are down by four cents this week compared to last week to $2.86 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by two cents to $3.05 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville dropped by four cents to $2.72, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is down by three cents to $2.80 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price dropped by six cents this week to $2.80 a gallon and in Henry County the average price fell by nine cents this week to $2.78. Prices in Halifax County remained the same this week at $2.86 a gallon.
