The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday. At 12:15 pm, deputies received a call for a welfare check at 1159 Garrett Road in Ridgeway.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a juvenile resident who advised that his mother needed help. Deputies entered the residence and located a deceased adult female in a bedroom.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is treating this case as a homicide. Investigators are currently processing the scene and interviewing witnesses. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Roanoke, VA for an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

At this time, no arrests have been made; however, investigators are interested in speaking with Joseph Chad Lockett, who was recently in a relationship with the victim. There are no warrants for Lockett at this time.
