A Danville man was killed in a crash in Halifax County on Saturday. Virginia State Police is investigating the fatal single vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday at 7:15 am on Philpott Road in Halifax County.

A 2015 Chevrolet Spark was heading westbound on Philpott Road, one mile east of Hackberry Road, when the vehicle went off of the right side of the road, down an embankment, and then struck a tree.

The driver of the Spark, Demietre R. Brandon, 33, of Danville, was ejected from the vehicle.  Brandon died at the scene and was not wearing a seatbelt.
