A man wanted in connection to a shooting in Hurt has turned himself in to authorities. According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, 59-year-old Ellis Wayne Lambert Jr., of Flat Top Cove Rd. turned himself in to deputies early Tuesday afternoon.

He is currently being treated for injuries sustained in yesterday’s incident. Lambert will be treated and once released he will be transported to the Magistrates Office to determine bail.

The incident occurred on Monday at 12:02 pm,  when the Pittsylvania County 911 Dispatch Center received a call at 3696 Shula Drive in Hurt in reference to a subject being shot.

Upon arrival Deputies discovered an altercation had occurred between family members where firearms were involved and Lambert Jr was possibly shot and ran from the residence into the woods.
