
Update: The Martinsville Police Department arrested Jerod Baker on Sunday at 11:10 pm. Baker was taken into custody without incident in the parking lot of Avalon Arms Apartments in the 700 block of Corn Tassel Trail.
He is currently being held in the Martinsville City Jail.

One person was injured during a shooting in Martinsville on Wednesday and Police are looking for a suspect. According to the Martinsville Police Department, on Wednesday at 8 pm officers responded to the Valero in the 1100 block of Brookdale Street.
On scene, they found a 51-year-old man from Oak Ridge, NC suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Sovah Martinsville Hospital and later transferred to Carilion Roanoke Hospital where he remains hospitalized.
The investigation revealed that the victim was shot at the Avalon Arms Apartments in the 700 block of Corn Tassell Trail. Police developed a suspect, Jerod Montez Baker, 34, of Martinsville.
Baker is currently wanted for Aggravated Malicious Wounding.
