Average gas prices across Virginia are down by nickel this week compared to last week to $2,97 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is down by two cents to $3.17 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville remained the same this week at $2.84, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is down by two pennies this week to $2.89 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is down by one cent this week to $2.78 a gallon and in Henry County the average price dropped by four cents this week to $2.84. Prices in Halifax County fell by 11 cents this week to $2.94 a gallon.
