The City of Danville will host the fourth annual Southern Virginia Regional Housing Summit on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research Conference Center, 150 Slayton Avenue, Danville.

The summit connects developers, builders, contractors, realtors, architects, financial representatives, local officials, and community advocates to explore new residential development opportunities across the region, including Halifax, Henry, Patrick, and Pittsylvania counties, as well as Danville and Martinsville cities.

Attendees will learn about funding options at the local, state, and federal levels, hear from a panel highlighting ongoing and completed housing projects, and visit an exhibit hall highlighting regional resources. Participating localities will provide details on available single- and multifamily development sites.

Tammy Neale, CEO of Virginia Housing, will be the keynote speaker. Since her appointment in March 2024, Neale has led Virginia Housing’s daily operations and strategic initiatives, playing a central role in advancing affordable housing across the Commonwealth.

Last year’s event was supported by 29 sponsors, with over 220 community partners in attendance. The event highlighted housing needs, current projects, and successful developments including:
