There were no injuries during a massive house fire in Pittsylvania County early Wednesday morning. Blairs Fire and Rescue says they received the call for the fire at 12:48 am in the 900 block of Afton Road.

First arriving units found a large residence with fire through the roof. Due to the large size of the structure, the setback from the road, and a lack of hydrants in the area, a Tanker Task Force was requested to provide the water supply for the aerial master stream and multiple hand lines.

Blairs Fire and Rescue responded with our Engine 342, Rescue Engine 343, Ladder 34, Tanker 346, Command 34, Transport 341, Utility 34, and 26 personnel. They were also assisted by multiple fire crews from across Pittsylvania County.
