Average gas prices across Virginia are up by nine cents this week to $3.06 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country increased by three cents to $3.16 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville rose by a nickel this week to $2.88, while the average price in Pittsylvania County increased by six cents this week to $2.95 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is down by a penny this week to $2.79 a gallon and in Henry County the average price is up by a dime this week to $2.91. Prices in Halifax County climbed up by 12 cents this week to $3.10 a gallon.
