A Dry Fork man was killed in a crash in Pittsylvania County on Monday morning. Virginia State Police is investigating the single vehicle crash that occurred at 4:42 am on Route 844, two tenths of a mile north of Route 703 in Pittsylvania County.

A 2022 Nissan Sentra was traveling south on Route 844 at a high rate of speed, when the vehicle crossed the centerline, overcorrected and ran off the right side of the roadway; striking a tree.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as Kevin Leander Myers, 37, of Dry Fork. Myers was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
