One person was killed and another was injured during a shooting in Martinsville on Tuesday night. According to the Martinsville Police Department, at 9:50 pm officers responded to a large disturbance in the 500 block of Forest Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that one woman had been shot. 39-year-old Crystal Galloway Jordan, of Martinsville, was transported to the SOVAH Health Martinsville where she succumbed to her injuries.

While investigating, a 20-year-old Danville man also arrived at the hospital with gunshot injuries. He remains in serious condition. His injuries are also believed to be related to the incident.

Members of the Henry Couty Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police and the Martinsville Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene and the hospital and assisted with the investigation.
