A man has been arrested in Rockingham County for raping a juvenile. According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, on June 16, a report was received in reference to a sexual assault that took place at 155 Linda Drive in Madison, involving a juvenile.

After an extensive investigation conducted by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division a warrant was obtained on 33-year-old Miguel Perez, who resides at 155 Linda Drive in Madison NC, for Second Degree Forcible Rape.

On August 8,  Perez was arrested and served with the warrant without incident. Perez was taken to the Magistrate’s Office where he received no bond, and is currently being held at the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility.

Perez is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on August 21.

The United States Department of Homeland Security (HSI) subsequently investigated Perez’s citizenship status and determined that Perez was in the United States illegally. The United States Department of Homeland Security (HSI) secured an ICE Detainer on Perez due to his illegal status.
