
Two people have been arrested following a shooting in Henry County on Sunday morning. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at 1:50 am, officers were dispatched to reports of shots fired in the 1700 block of Chatham Road.
Shortly after the call, an 18-year-old female suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at SOVAH Health Martinsville by personal vehicle. She was triaged by medical staff and subsequently airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for advanced treatment. She is currently in stable condition.
After further investigation, 18-year-old Ty’Marquis Nashawn Kershaw, of Fredericksburg, VA, has been arrested and charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. A 16-year-old male from Henry County has also been arrested and charged with attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possessing a firearm while under the age of 18.
Kershaw is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail with no bond. The 16-year-old suspect is being held at the W.W. Moore Juvenile Detention Facility in Danville, VA. Due to his age, the name of the juvenile will not be released.
