The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the break in of several motor vehicles. These break ins have taken place at area churches while victims were attending services.

The first incident took place at Hope Church at 5122 Hwy 770 in Stoneville NC on Tuesday around 8 pm. The second incident took place at 3111 Ayersville Rd in Mayodan NC on Wednesday around 11 am.

The break ins resulted in the thefts of pocket books/purses, citizens personal information, financial cards, and other valuables. The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office advises that everyone secure your property by not leaving personal items, or items of value, in your vehicles while the vehicle is unlocked and not attended.

Furthermore, The Rockingham County Sherriff’s Office recommends that all citizens be vigilant and aware of their surroundings while out in public. These incidents are actively being investigated with the assistance of other local agencies, and agencies in surrounding counties.
