Last night the Danville School Board appointed an interim member to its vacant seat. The Danville School Board appointed Danville Boys and Girls Club CEO Gary Terry to the vacant seat. 

The seat became vacant after Dr. Keith Silverman stepped down in June due to health concerns. Dr. Silverman sadly passed away a week after stepping down.

Terry was selected from a pool of seven candidates. The candidates were former school board member Charles McWilliams, GW cheerleading coach Trin McLaughlin, former coach and teacher Henry Walker, pastor Sylvester Townes, former South Boston Town Councilman Winston Harrell, and former teacher Curtis Gore Jr.

Terry will serve in the role until next fall when a special election will be held for the seat.
