Average gas prices across Virginia dropped by three cents this week compared to last week to $2.97 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is down by a penny to $3.14 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville remained the same this week at $2.86, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is down by two pennies to $2.90 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price dropped by a nickel this week to $2.79 a gallon and in Henry County the average price is down by a penny to $2.81. Prices in Halifax County are down by three cents this week to $2.92 a gallon.
