Another local nonprofit is responding to assist flood victims in Texas. Gretna based Campers Care LLC is planning to purchase and deliver fencing materials to San Sabo, Texas.

“T-posts are really the fencing of choice in Texas,” said Campers Care founder Devin Taylor, “a lot of the ranchers we’ve spoken to over the last couple of days and the distributers there said that wooden fence posts, they have so many wildfires in Texas that those posts get burned up so they’ve transition to metal t-posts.”

Barbed wire, high tensile wire, chainsaws, and chainsaw chains are also currently a need in Texas.

The nonprofit will also be taking hygiene supplies, pet food, pressure washers, work gloves and tarps. Other items for donation can be dropped off at the Chatham Animal Clinic at 34 Pruden Street.

Those interested in making monetary donations can go to camperscare.org. Campers Care is planning to leave for Texas on Friday.
