
Two flood water rescues occurred in Halifax County late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. According to the Halifax County Department of Emergency Management, both incidents involved vehicles being driven into standing water.
The Virginia State Police Swiftwater Rescue team was on standby in the area and were called into action. The first incident occurred at 11:53 pm on North Fork Church Road with two vehicles in the water, one was able to make it back to land without assistance, but the other driver was rescued by a boat.
The second incident occurred at 8:20 am on Kingswood Road and involved one vehicle. Both occupants of the vehicle had to be rescued by boat.
There were not injuries in either incident.
