Average gas prices across Virginia dropped by nine cents this week compared to last week to $3.04 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is down by four cents to $3.14 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville dropped by 10 cents this week to $2.89, while the average price in Pittsylvania County fell by six cents this week to $2.98 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price dropped by 12 cents this week to $2.86 a gallon and in Henry County the average price dropped by a dime and is also at $2.86. Prices in Halifax County are down by 14 cents this week to $2.99 a gallon.
