A gas leak has been contained in the Town of Chatham. The Chatham Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the reported gas lead at around 5:02 pm on Thursday.

Units arrived to find a main line feeding the Town was struck from digging. CFD Volunteers operated on scene for 9hrs, providing scene lighting and protection for Columbia Gas while they contained the leak.

The leak was contained at 1:37 am.
