There were no injuries during a structure fire in Danville on Wednesday. The Danville Fire Department responded to 107 Bishop Ave. for a reported structure fire at 7:08 pm.
Upon arrival, units found heavy smoke and fire showing from the front of the home and also from the basement area. DFD responded with an initial assignment of three engines, a tower ladder, a safety unit, and a command unit consisting of 15 personnel.
The home was searched for any occupants and pets and none were found. All occupants and pets had exited the home prior to crews arrival and no injuries were reported.
DFD remained on scene for three and a half hours searching for any hidden fire and overhauling the fire areas. Additional units were called to the scene throughout the evening in order to rotate fire crews due to the extreme hot and humid weather.
DFD was assisted on scene by the Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville Water and Gas, Danville Electric and the Danville Police Department. The occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross.
