Average gas prices across Virginia jumped up by seven cents this week compared to last week to $3.09 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by eight cents to $3.22 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville jumped up by nine cents this week to $2.93, while the average price in Pittsylvania County climbed by eight cents this week to $2.99 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is up by 12 cents this week to $2.91 a gallon and in Henry County the average price climbed by 13 cents to $2.95. Prices in Halifax County are up by seven cents this week to $3.10 a gallon.
