The Reidsville Police Department is currently investigating a double homicide that occurred on Thursday night. According to the department, officers responded at 11:55 pm to shots fired at the 500 block of Roach Street. 

Once on scene officers discovered two gunshot victims and attempted lifesaving care. Rockingham County EMS arrived and pronounced both victims dead on arrival. The victims were identified as Samuel L. Brooks, 42, and Shanika D. Penn, 37, both from Reidsville.

The Reidsville Police Department has developed a person of interest in this case but are not releasing that information at this time.
