The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects in a string of larcenies of Bright Speed internet cable. There have been multiple reports of internet cable being cut down from power poles in the Mountain Road and Bethel Road area. The cutting of the cables is extremely dangerous and has caused internet outages for several county residents and creates costly repairs for the internet provider.

There are currently two vehicles that may be of interest in the case. A white full-sized pickup that appears to be a Chevrolet Silverado (pictured) and an older model red Ford F150.

The public is asked that if you see these vehicles or anyone cutting cables from power line poles that are not associated with an internet or power provider, specifically in the night time hours, to please notify the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
