Average gas prices across Virginia climbed by six cents this week compared to last week to $3.02 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by two cents to $3.14 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville jumped up by six cents this week to $2.84, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is up by two pennies this week to $2.91 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price dropped by eight cents this week to $2.79 a gallon and in Henry County the average price is down by three cents to $2.82. Prices in Halifax County shot up by 20 cents this week to $3.03 a gallon.
