
Sovah Health and Spectrum Medical jointly announced today the health system will be acquiring the specialty group effective July 1. As part of the transition, Spectrum’s providers and staff will join Sovah’s medical group Sovah Physician Practices, and the practice will be rebranded as Sovah Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
Established in 1948 as Danville Orthopedic Clinic, Spectrum Medical has a longstanding history of excellence in providing high-quality musculoskeletal care to patients across southern Virginia and northern North Carolina. Spectrum’s providers specialize in general orthopedics, sports medicine, joint replacement and spine surgery and physical therapy and provide an array of services to treat everything from musculoskeletal pain and injuries to complex fractures, spinal issues and pain management needs.

Following the addition of Spectrum, Sovah Physician Practices will include more than 70 primary and specialty providers and 20 practice locations across Danville, Martinsville and the surrounding region. Its specialties include family medicine and pediatrics, gastroenterology, heart and vascular, general surgery, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep medicine and urology.
