On Tuesday night, Danville City Council approved some proposed new apartments in the River District. Belk Architecture in partnership with 18F Danville, LLC, is proposing to renovate 18 Floyd Street into 41 multifamily dwelling units. 

18 Floyd Street is the former Morotock Manufacturing Company building. The building is 32,000 square feet and was constructed in 1907.

The apartments will be 35 one bedroom and six two bedroom units. The plans for the building include brick repairs, replica historic windows, and a refreshed ghost sign that will honor the building’s past.

The developers are hoping to begin working on the new apartments next month.
