
The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire along with a public altercation with injuries at 713 Springfield Road at 11:08 pm on Saturday. Once on scene, Battalion 1 upgraded the call to include an additional fire engine.
Four Engines, a Ladder Truck and two support vehicles responded. Engine 5 reported smoke was showing from a three story apartment building and that it would be a working fire. The building was evacuated by other units, while the fire was being extinguished by E5. One apartment received moderate damage.
The occupant of that apartment was not able to be contacted while the fire units were on scene. All of the other occupants were able to return to their apartments. No injuries were reported once units were on scene. Units were on scene for approximately 1 hour. The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
