
The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors approved the school budget and county budget for fiscal year 2025 and 26 last night. The total budget is just under $132.5 million and includes a local contribution from Pittsylvania County of just under $26.4 million, which is 4.5% above the minimum required local effort.
The total budget for the county is just under $257.6 million. The real estate rate will stay the same at $0.56 per $100 of assessed value.
The budget also provides a $1.2 million increase for the Sheriff’s Office in continued support of School Resource Officers and the new vehicle replacement program.
