In response to the heartbreaking devastation left behind by recent deadly tornadoes, God’s Pit Crew has launched a disaster relief deployment to the hard-hit areas of St. Louis, Missouri.  Teams of trained volunteers will deploy from the organization’s headquarters in Danville, Virginia, on Tuesday, May 20 – with onsite assistance beginning on May 21 and continuing through May 31.

Once onsite in the affected region, God’s Pit Crew volunteers will work to cut and remove damaged trees, clean up storm debris, and offer emotional and spiritual care by praying with anyone in need – bringing not only physical assistance but also deep compassion and hope.

“The level of destruction we’ve seen in both Kentucky and Missouri is heartbreaking,” remarked God’s Pit Crew President, Randy Johnson.  “Families have lost homes, possessions, and in some cases, their loved ones.  It’s hard to put into words the pain these communities are facing.  But we know that when people come together in faith and service, hope can and will rise.”

This response effort will involve dozens of volunteers mobilizing to bring much-needed relief to those whose lives have been turned upside down.  This deployment comes alongside the already in-progress efforts of the ministry to supply impacted regions in Kentucky and Missouri with critical relief supplies like bottled water, Gatorade, snack foods, and specially designed Blessing Buckets – purposely filled with hygiene items, cleaning supplies, and more to help a person face the days ahead after losing everything.

“Our volunteers show up with tools in hand and love in their hearts,” said Immediate Disaster Response Coordinator, Chris Chiles.  “They’re not just clearing debris – they’re showing people that they’re not alone.  That someone cares.  That they haven’t been forgotten or overlooked.”

God’s Pit Crew urgently needs volunteers and donations to support this critical relief effort.  Volunteer registration and donation opportunities can be accessed at GodsPitCrew.org.

Volunteers looking to assist with this deployment are asked to register using the information buttons located within the red banner on the God’s Pit Crew website (GodsPitCrew.org).  This deployment work will begin on May 21 with plans to assist through May 31.
