Average gas prices across Virginia are up by a penny this week to $2.97 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by four cents to $3.17 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville is down by two cents this week to $2.84, while the average price in Pittsylvania County climbed by six cents to $2.93 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is up by four cents this week to $2.837 a gallon and in Henry County the average price is also up by four cents to $2.85. Prices in Halifax County are down by a penny this week to $3.01 a gallon.
