
One person was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle in South Boston on Saturday. Virginia State Police are investigating the crash that occurred at 2:15 pm near the intersection of Halifax Road and Old Halifax Road.
The motorcycle was driving westbound on Old Halifax Road and was hit by a 2012 Hyundai Tucson. The vehicle was making a left turn from the eastbound lane when the crash occurred.
The driver of the motorcycle, 35-year-old Waverly Pannell Jr. of Halifax was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.
65-year-old Nancy Massie was the driver of the Tucson. She was not injured in the wreck.
Charges are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
