God’s Pit Crew and Moore’s Electrical and Mechanical of Altavista, Virginia, will soon take part in a special assembly event of filling Blessing Buckets with critical emergency supplies.  Moore’s staff members and their families, along with the volunteer leadership team from God’s Pit Crew, will work together to fill over 1,000 five-gallon Blessing Buckets with non-perishable food, first aid supplies, hygiene items, Bibles, and handwritten notes of encouragement.

With the onslaught of Hurricane Helene and multiple other major disasters, nearly 20,000 Blessing Buckets were distributed in 2024 alone, reaching families in urgent need across the country.  And already in 2025, close to 8,000 additional Blessing Buckets have been deployed to communities devastated by catastrophic flooding, tornadoes, wildfires, and more.

As natural disasters continue to increase in frequency and intensity, the need to replenish and grow the Blessing Bucket inventory is urgent.  The upcoming packing event with Moore’s will play a critical role in restocking the life-giving buckets, ensuring the God’s Pit Crew ministry is ready to respond with hope and relief – at a moment’s notice – when the next disaster strikes.

This mobile Blessing Bucket assembly will take place on Thursday, May 1, beginning at 8:30 AM onsite at Moore’s Electrical and Mechanical (101 Edgewood Avenue, Altavista, VA 24517).  The team of volunteers assembled by Moore’s will use the specially designed mobile assembly lines to gather the buckets and fill them with items that will help provide hope and help for survivors of major disasters.

“Our team is beyond excited to partner with our friends at Moore’s for our fifth mobile assembly event together,” shared God’s Pit Crew Blessing Bucket Co-Director, Miki Jenkins.  “Through this partnership, more life-sustaining supplies are getting into the hands that need them most.”

“Blessing Buckets are desperately needed for disaster survivors and are God’s Pit Crew’s first line of response after disaster strikes.  The buckets provide emergency supplies, along with emotional and spiritual encouragement when people need it most,” continued Jenkins.
