Three GW Football players signed their college letters of intent on Friday. Quarterback Neo Cabell and running back Jaiden Glenn will both begin playing at Guilford College in the fall. Linebacker Avante Fitzgerald signed with Norfolk State.
The three seniors were a huge part of the turnaround at GW after a disappointing 3-6 season in 2022. The Eagles finished this past season with a record of 10-2 and made it to the second round of the playoffs.
“They’ve been great leaders for the young guys we have coming right now,” said GW Coach Nick Anderson, “these three guys we’re so excited to be able to call them GW Eagles, to represent us at the next level. They’re hard workers, committed, great role models, and good kids. Whenever we’ve done volunteering stuff they are always the first ones to sign up for it. They’re not afraid to do the little extra stuff, and that’s why they’re successful.”
In his senior season Cabell had nearly 1,900 yards of total offense with 22 total touchdowns. Glenn rushed for 1,005 yards and 13 touchdowns in nine games. Fitzgerald was the leader of a GW defense that allowed just 19.5 points per game.
