Construction has officially begun at Dan River Falls to build the new offices of the Danville Office of Economic Development & Tourism (DOEDT). The new space is expected to be completed by Q3 of 2025.

Currently, the DOEDT team is divided throughout multiple spaces in the Municipal Building at 427 Patton Street. This move will provide a cohesive space for team members to collaborate on projects and host workshops, trainings, and prospect visits.

“We are thrilled about the opportunity this new space provides for enhanced communication and collaboration within our team,” says DOEDT Director, Corrie Bobe. “We hope that this office will equip our team with the tools they need to better serve our community and act as an exceptional first impression to new businesses and industries looking to open and expand in our region.”

This new office space will feature a conference room with enhanced technology, training room, media room, and collaborative marketing space.

In January of 2023, community leaders and officials held a groundbreaking ceremony, renaming the historic White Mill to Dan River Falls. This 550,000 square-foot former textile mill was constructed in 1920 and will soon feature commercial and office spaces, restaurants, and residential apartments.
