
Pittsylvania County is temporarily lifting its landfill tipping fee through March 11 to assist residents with disposing of debris resulting from the February 11, winter storm. The Board of Supervisors approved this waiver at its February 18, business meeting and the waiver is valid through March 11, 2025.
The fee waiver is only for residentially generated brush and vegetative debris and no quantity is placed on residential customers delivering their own brush by personal passenger vehicle smaller than a one-ton pickup truck and/or a flat, 4×8 single axle trailer with sides no greater than 36 inches high.
Individuals must provide valid identification of County residents and must be presented at the County’s landfill office upon delivery or to other County staff upon request.
Accepted forms of identification are as follows:
• Unexpired Virginia driver’s license, military ID or photo ID card with Pittsylvania County address.
• Deed, mortgage or monthly mortgage/rental statement with matching photo ID verifying residence in Pittsylvania County.
• U.S. Postal Service change of address confirmation with matching photo ID.
• Current payroll stub by an employer with matching photo ID showing a valid County address of the employee.
The landfill is located at 382 Rainbow Lane in Dry Fork. It is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
