The public hearing on the Balico LLC rezoning application for data centers and a private power plant has been rescheduled for the March 18, 2025, Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors business meeting.

The meeting begins at 7 pm in the Board meeting room at 39 Bank Street in Chatham. Those interested in speaking for or against the project will have an opportunity to do so during this time.

The public hearing had originally been scheduled for the February 18, 2025, Board meeting.

Balico LLC is requesting 763.16 acres be rezoned from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision and A-1, Agricultural District to M-2, Industrial District Heavy Industry in the Banister Election District.

The postponement comes at the request of the applicant.

The application can also be viewed in the Pittsylvania County Community Development office at 53 North Main Street in Chatham from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

The Pittsylvania County Planning Commission unanimously recommended denial of the application at its January 7 meeting.
