Yesterday, the Danville Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval for a special use permit submitted by Dan Hotel River St LLC, to construct a hotel at 100 River Street.

The applicant is proposing a four-story, 120 room Hyatt Studio at the location with a total investment of $30 million.

100 River Street contains a lot with frontage on the Dan River. Therefore, a Special Use Permit is necessary prior to construction.

The Planning Commission’s recommendation will now be forwarded to Danville City Council for their consideration at their March 4 meeting.
