Starting on Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) will kick off a four-day swing through Southwest and Southside Virginia. During his swing through Warner will visit both Martinsville and Danville on Thursday.
At 9 am on Thursday, Sen. Warner will visit the Martinsville Speedway and meet with community leaders, local elected officials, and members from the Martinsville-Henry Chamber of Commerce. As part of this visit, Sen. Warner is expected to provide an update from Washington and speak about his legislative effort to support motorsports facilities like the Martinsville Speedway and bring additional jobs and positive economic impacts to the surrounding community.
At 11:00 am in Danville at Cottontail Weddings & Events, Sen. Warner will convene representatives across the spectrum of Southside’s economic development community, including economic development professionals, elected officials, and business support organizations. As part of this discussion, Sen. Warner is expected to provide an update from Congress and discuss the new economic opportunities available to Virginia communities through the Inflation Reduction Act and the CHIPS + Science Act.
