The average price of gas in Virginia is up by a penny this week to $3.67 a gallon, while the national average is also up by one cent to $3.86. Prices across the southside dropped slightly in some areas this week and rose in others.

In Danville the average price is down two cents to $3.46, while in Pittsylvania County the average price is down six cents to $3.49 a gallon. Prices in Martinsville are up by a penny to $3.53 and down by one cent in Henry County at $3.54.

In Halifax County prices climbed by two cents to $3.56 a gallon.
