The South Boston Police Department is still searching for a homicide suspect. Arrest warrants have been issued for Javonte Jordan on charges of second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

On Sunday, July 16, Jordan had an altercation with Quaheim Chandler, then took out a handgun and fired multiple times at Chandler. One bullet struck Chandler in the upper torso causing a life threatening injury.

Chandler was pronounced dead about one hour later at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. Jordan is considered armed and dangerous.
