A woman was injured in a shooting at a Martinsville apartment complex early on Thursday morning. The Martinsville Police Department received the call of a possible shooting at Maplewood Apartments at 4:23 am.

After authorities arrived on scene they found a 44-year-old woman that was injured from a gunshot wound. She was then transported to a hospital in Roanoke.

During the investigation authorities arrested Tony Martin at the scene on an unrelated charge. He is being held without bond and is being interviewed as a suspect.
