The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for his involvement in a homicide that happened on Wednesday night on Mountain Road. 62-year-old William Rosser Wazeka has been charged with second degree murder for his alleged involvement.
At 9:13 pm a call came in to the Emergency 911 center of a possible stabbing at a residence on Mountain Road. Members of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, Halifax Police Department, Virginia State Police, South Boston Police Department and
members of the Halifax County Rescue responded to the incident.
When authorities arrived on scene they located a male subject laying outside the entrance of his home. The subject had
succumbed to his injuries. Another subject was seen walking away from the residence. This subject was quickly detained and identified as Wazeka.
Wazeka was transported to Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Halifax and is being held without bail. The body of the man that was killed was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke. Sheriff Clark stated that he would like to thank all the agencies for their swift response and assistance with this incident as well as the E911 dispatchers. This matter is still under investigation and more charges are pending.
