
A man was sentenced to 20 years in prison last week for killing two people and burning down their house in Pittsylvania County. Omar Guevara-Rodriguez received a total sentence of 20 years, 10 years for two counts of second-degree murder, six years for two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, two years for shooting into an occupied dwelling, and two years for arson.
Guevara-Rodriguez shot and killed Victor Alanzo Garcia Moraga and Onesimo Fermin Silva Garcia and then burned down their house in December of 2021. The incident occurred at 152 W. Prospect St. in Pittsylvania County.
