The Youngkin administration is urging Virginia colleges that plan to raise the cost of tuition to reverse their decisions. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch Secretary of Education Aimee Guidera called college presidents throughout the Commonwealth asking them to reconsider. 10 of the 15 public four-year colleges plan to raise tuition between 3% and 4.7%. They are required to give their employees raises of about 5% plus will incur higher expenses due to inflation.
