A nurse from Danville is sentenced to 4-1/2 years in jail on a plea deal to federal drug tampering charges resulting from a North Carolina investigation. Prosecutors say Emilee Kathryn Poteat injected herself with opioids intended for surgical patients at a Winston-Salem hospital and replaced them with saline solution. Poteat pleaded guilty last December to tampering with a consumer product. She will also be on 3 years supervised release and is to pay a $3,000 fine.
