South Boston property owners will have to dig a little deeper into their pockets to pay the 2023 tax bills. According to ABC 13 the Town Council voted 4-1 to implement a 6-cent hike raising the rate to 27 cents per $100 of assessed value. Officials say the increase is needed to stay competitive on worker pay as employees can leave for higher-paying jobs plus it will combat the effects of inflation on expenses.
