Three Danville Sheriff’s Office Deputies received awards for their actions in difficult situations. According to the Star-Tribune Master Deputy Richard Simmons rescued a driver who rolled their vehicle over in a crash while Corporal Anne Taylor stopped a Crisis Intervention Center patient from assaulting a clinician. Deputy Jerry Turner was recognized for stopping a man with a knife from entering the Danville Courthouse.
