The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors inks a contract with a Richmond-based firm to recalculate property assessments for 2024. According to the Register & Bee the Board invalidated the previous assessments over concerns about statutory compliance, data integrity, and equitable application of values. Virginia law requires property reassessments to be done every 4 years. Due to the invalidated results the county will use 2018 values to calculate tax bills for this year and next year.
